Hair Trends for 2016 Wedding Season

Hair Trends

There’s no shortage of ideas out there for the bride’s hair, but what about the rest of us? This year’s wedding season has arrived, and the bridesmaids and guests among us could use some hair inspiration. Here are a few trends that will put your wedding locks on the cutting edge — just be sure you don’t upstage Bridezilla!

Part with Tradition with a Statement Part

The statement part is a simple style with a strong visual effect. What we love about statement parts is that they can work with any hair length and any face shape. The razor-sharp, down-the-middle part is back with a vengeance, for example. These 90s staples made their way back to the runway early this year. Just make sure you have your Ace of Base playlist ready to go as you create this hot wedding style. Extreme side parts work well too, so play around to see what looks best.

When in Doubt, Accessorize

You can make even the most basic hairstyle trendy with a few hair accessories. Hair jewelry and hair tattoos might be a bit over the top for everyday wear, but they are perfect for special occasions like weddings. You have tons of options. You can go with iron-in stars and other shapes, for example, or glam up your (statement) part with Part Art. If you’re feeling as bold as Kylie Jenner, you may even want to try a hair tattoo — gold is our personal favorite.

Who Said Brides Have a Monopoly on Updos?

Don’t forget that bridesmaids and guests can do updos too! This season, we’re seeing a lot of two types of updos: high volume and braided. For a simple, summery braided updo, twist two side braids with a larger one at the back of your neck to form a bun. For tons of volume in your updo, try a root-boosting spray followed by lots of teasing.
